1. Nature of This Service
Lake Ridge Residents Directory is a private reference service. It describes and links to public record indexes, directories, and official resources relevant to Lake Ridge, Prince William County, and Virginia. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with a government office, court, or records custodian.
2. Permitted Use
Use the service only for lawful purposes. You may not use it, or material reached through it, to:
- Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm another person.
- Seek someone whose location is protected by a protective order or another confidentiality rule.
- Commit identity theft, fraud, or another unlawful act.
- Make a decision regulated by the FCRA, including credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions.
- Scrape, copy, or republish site content at scale.
- Disrupt the service, its security, or its operation.
3. Consumer Reporting Status
This service is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. §1681 et seq. Nothing on the service or returned by a linked tool is a consumer report, and it may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or any other FCRA-covered purpose.
4. External Resources
County and state portals, sponsored search tools, and other outside resources have their own terms, fees, privacy practices, and availability. We do not control or accept responsibility for their content, data practices, pricing, or operation.
5. No Warranties
The service is offered “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any type. No promise is made that content is complete, correct, current, or uninterrupted, or that a linked portal will return a correct result.
6. Liability Limits
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or related damages arising from use of the service or a linked resource, including a decision made from a record found through one.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold the service operators harmless from a claim, demand, or reasonable attorneys’ fee arising from misuse of the service or violation of these terms.
8. Intellectual Property
The service’s original text, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Links and brief attributed excerpts are welcome; republication of full pages or systematic copying is not authorized.
9. Term Changes
These terms may be revised by posting an updated version here. Use after that posting constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
10. Access Restrictions
Access may be blocked or restricted, without notice, for a user who violates these terms or misuses the service.
11. Virginia Law
Virginia law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Virginia FOIA, Va. Code §2.2-3704, governs access to existing public records held by public bodies, subject to its exemptions and procedures. It does not require Prince William County to create a new Lake Ridge directory or combine unrelated records. Privacy rights of covered private controllers are addressed separately by the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, Va. Code Title 59.1, Chapter 53.
12. Severability
If a provision of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
